Both single channel and dual channel heat flux sensor amplifiers are offered. The single channel amplifier, is designed for use with the Thermogage heat flux gages, although may also be used with the HFM heat flux sensors. The dual channel amplifiers are designed for use with the HFM heat flux sensors and offer one channel for amplifying the heat flux sensor channel and a second channel for the temperature sensor.
Both single and dual ranges have both battery operated and mains operation (via a DC power adapter) available. Amplification of the sensor signals boosts the sensitivity of the sensors making integration into the measurement system more straight forward. Additionally, where the heat flux gage is placed some distance from the measurement system, boosting the signal at the sensor is benificial so as to minimise the effect of noise pick up on the long signal wires.
All amplifiers are supplied with a certificate of calibration. Fixed gain amplifiers ordered at the same time as a heat flux sensor will be calibrated with the heat flux sensor as a system.
Recommendations for which amplifier to use based on heat flux sensor as are follows:
TG1000, TG2000, TG9000 and TGH-2000 thermogage heat flux sensors
AMP-15A fixed gain amplifier
HFM-6 high temperature Heat Flux Microsensor
AMP-6 user adjustable gain, battery powered amplifier or
AMP-8 fixed gain, mains powered amplifier or
AMP-10 user adjustable gain, mains powered amplifier
HFM-8 Heat Flux Microsensor
AMP-12 user adjustable gain, battery powered amplifier or
AMP-13 user adjustable gain, mains powered amplifier
